Suddenly there was a massive pull. My shoulders, groin, everything was locked. Like a tight harness. Or was it death? Slowly the ground came towards me and next to me I saw Rosanne floating down. We gently landed on the Japanese soil. From that moment on I remember nothing. The last thing I saw was Paul driving a syringe into my arm. Then everything went white and then black.

When I woke up I didn’t realize I was alive at first. I was in a dream, talking about everything I had seen and encountered. It must have been a terribly confusing story because Jessica, who was sitting at my side, and Rosanne, who was in the bed next to mine, were both looking at me quite astonished. Later on Jessica told me that I had been in a sort of half-sleep while I was telling them everything. She asked how I felt. I told her I felt fine and that I was about ready to leave now. “To be frank, I’d like to go home.” I said “You’ve been booked to go to Portland” Jessica said. We’re all going. Rosanne, Sonja, Paul and me. You’re going too.” She spoke, very decidedly. She showed me an e-mail from Hans and Heather. They’re getting married and are expecting us at the wedding in Portland. I’m willing to get up if there’s a party. We would leave in the afternoon. “But after that I’ll be heading back to Scotland.” I said, making clear there was no doubt about it.
